Alchemy’s metaphorical language and concrete practices offer a way to re-imagine inner life and the process of psychological growth. Its arcane symbols, various stages and operations, and mysterious hermetic philosophies invite us to stand between the worlds of spirit and matter, to bridge conscious and unconscious.
In this episode, I introduce the Jungian and Archetypal psychology foundations that inform the Alchemical Inner Work technique, a framework I’ve developed and will be guiding members through in our upcoming workshop series. I reflect on how Jung and Hillman each approach alchemy, sharing select readings from Psychology and Alchemy1 and Alchemical Psychology.
Listen in as I explore how weaving their perspectives opens both practical and imaginal pathways for deepening inner work and examples of the technique in practice.

Which approach of alchemy do you resonate with, Jung’s or Hillman’s? Is there an alchemical symbol, operation or concept that you feel most drawn to?

Hello....first I learned oral alchemy teached in a class from Rosicrucian and Freemasion. For one year we went thru the process of the Lamspring. The alchemy emblems which work strongest for me ....Aurora Consurgens...I painted most of them, because if I walk my stairs up and down...looking at the pictures, the process awakes to life. My favorite ...the black Sophia ...I need to go thru the alchemy process again, because only these images or the stories from myths and legends work for me, not the normal psychology ....my soul reacts to them . I am interested in your work, but the next two month I am in another process. Can I join your class later or be part of your work in another way?..because I love it. Thanks for being here I thought I was alone. My english writing is simple but I understand everything. Jungs approach on alchemy is in my home, but I met his work later.
